Spring Flowers with New Lawn Fawn!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning to share a spring flowers kind of project! March begins in a few days, daylight will become more present which is the beginning of the end of winter! Yay!

My project today features some new Lawn Fawn which can all be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop!

I started by die cutting my Dotted Square die by Lawn Fawn out of Neena Solar White and then die cut the centre with the MFT Peek-A-Boo Circle Windows (love that die set).  I then stamped a bunch the flowers and the butterfly from the new Lawn Fawn Fab Flowers Set in multiple die inks.  I used the matching dies and die cut all the images including one of the "Happies" from the Happpy, Happy, Happy Lawn Cuts set out of dark pink paper from the Watercolor Wishes 6 x 6 paper pack (these two new paper packs rock my little world...I will definitely need more).  I then stamped my birthday sentiment from the Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set in Versafine Onyx black on lavender card stock.  Once all of the elements were die cut, that beautiful plaid pattern paper from the new Rainbow Perfectly Plaid 6 x 6 was screaming my name so I cut a piece to place in back of the white panel, it worked beautifully with my images!

I then used a variety of Nuvo Jewel Drops for accents along with my white gell pen. I really like the way this project turned out, the colors made me all kinds of happy!

Have a great week!

CFC168 - One Layer Wonder

Happy Friyay! So happy it's the end of the week :) Added bonus warm temperatures at the end of February! Snow is melting and the mood is good!

Time for a CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week is all about one layer cards. I have always struggled with one layer! But I am happy with the way it turned out probably because it is rainbow colours!

For this one I used the CAS-ual Friday WTF and Shenanigans stamp sets.  I used a variety of inks both die and pigment.  Some SSS, Hero Arts and Mama Elephant.  For the big Happy Birthday sentiment I used my favorite black Versafine Onyx.  I find it gives the best and a crisp impression.  I finished it all off with a mix of sequins (not sure if that hinders the "one layer" theory but I figure it's an embellishment)

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Avery Elle Double Birthday!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning sharing two projects featuring products from Butterfly Reflections Ink for my twin nieces who have a birthday this week!

These two projects feature images from the new Avery Elle Carousel stamps and dies! I chose the horse and the bear and coloured them with Copics. I then used my Nuovo Glitter paste inTanzanite Lavender and Peridot Green and made my own stencils out of dies. I then embossed my sentiments also from the Carousel set by Avery Elle.  I put my cards together and added the small action wobblers to both carousel images (I love me some action wobblers). I decided to make gift bags/boxes for their gifts, I love the Lawn Fawn dies for projects like these! So I used the Scalloped Treat Box die. I then paired the boxes with some of the newer Neat & Tangled Love Note dies in matching colours.

I hope the girls will enjoy these for their birthday! have a great week!

Altenew Flowers

It's Friday!!! I have been fighting a cold for over a week, can't tell you enough how happy I am that it's the weekend!!

My project today features the beautiful Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set. I am simply in love with anything floral by Altenew and their inks with the layering sets are just perfect! The lighting in my craft room was interesting when I took the picture, I tried to adjust as best as I could so my apologies.

I am really focusing on spring colours, puts me in my happy place :)  All of the inks for the flowers are the Altenew cubes. I die cut the sentiment by Mama Elephant twice, once out of black and once out of gold shiny card stock and offset it when I glued it together for a shaded effect. I then gold embossed the birthday sentiment.  finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins!

Simple card to make, like I mentioned the layering stamps and the inks from Altenew take the guesswork out of any project!

Have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time!
I'll be back on Monday :)

Waffle Flower Treasure!

Happy hump day! I needed a boy birthday card for one of my nephews and I thought this Tiger and Lily set by Waffle Flower was perfect! I believe this set has been out for about a year, but I was finally able to get my hands on it through Butterfly Reflections Ink!

I die cut two bases of Neena Solar White card stock and one out of Tim Holtz watercolour paper using the second largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle. One for my base, one for my "sand" and the watercolour is for my waves.

I stamped my images on Neena Solar White to be able to Copic color them.  I used the accompanying Tiger and Lily dies then added some dot detail and white gell pen for highlights.  For my card base I die cut some Lawn Fawn clouds out of full sticky post it notes for masking and used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky.  I used the "wave" die from the Tiger and Lily set on watercolour card stock and used Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks and spritzed them with my Distress Sprayer for a water droplet effect.

For the sand, I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border and added Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks and the accompanying markers for detail.

I then put the card together and topped it all off with sequins by Tailored Expressions!

Thanks for taking the time!

Happy flowers in winter!!

Happy Monday! Kim here with you this morning and I am sharing a bright happy floral card! I am not of fan of winter, and like many of you the snow has decided to invade in February this year!

I started with a Strathmore Bristol card base cut to 5.5 x 12 which are the measurements indicated by the directions for the fantastic Concord and 9th Hugs die.  I lined up my die as directed in the video on the Concord and 9th blog and then folded my card accordingly.  I then took the Winnie and Walter In Bloom: Addie's Garden stamps (I simply love all of their In Bloom collection) and stamped my images with Versamark Ink.  I only needed one mask of the larger flower to be able to stamp the other florals and leaves. I did have to be carful of warping because I had to heat emboss each image as I went.

I then took my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (two of each shade) and my water brush to color my images.  I then die cut the hugs die (only the word) out of black card stock and cut them to size. I wanted a shadow to make the die pop off the card. I topped off the card with my go to Tailored Expressions sequins.

Have a great week!

CFC167 - Pink, Red and White!

It's Fri-Yay! That also means it's time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! Valentine's Day is next week so what better then a Pink, Red and White theme :)

I wanted to use one of my new favorite techniques for this card, craft foam, StickIt and specialty paper!

I started by die cutting my Neena Solar White card panel and stamping my sentiments from the Shenanigans stamps set in pink and red pigment inks. I then die cut multiples in pink glitter paper and red shiny card stock with a die from the CAS-ual Fridays Funky Round Tag Fri-Dies set.  The die is the same as the images from the Exclamations stamp set which I also used.

I laid out my dies to see where best to stamp the accompanying images in the same inks as the sentiment.  Once I was happy with the stamping, I placed my die cuts and cut the excess off the sides.

I added some craft foam to the back of the entire panel for more dimension and secured the panel to the card base and added a few sequins.

Shellabrate!!!

I had such fun making this card! I am in love with sea turtles, anytime I travel and the city has an aquarium I have to go only to see the sea turtles! So when I saw this set by Waffle Flower on the Butterfly Reflections on-line shop I had to have it for me!

I started with a piece of Strathmore Bristol paper and used a mix of Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans with some masks that I freehand cut to make my waves.  I sprayed the paper with my Distress Sprayer, once that dried I took a Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stencil (Dot Fade) and added a bit of Nuovo Tanzanite Glitter Paste (LOVE that stuff!). The Tanzanite has a mix of blue and lavender glitter, so pretty! I then stamped and coloured my sea turtles with my Copics. I wanted a shaker card so I stamped my sentiment on the Acetate using my StaZon white and I used my Misiti to be able to re-stamp for the best impression.

The outer frame is by MFT and I cut it from MFT Lavender Glitter paper. I used many different sequins in blue, lavender and clear.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Neat and Tangled Valentine's Day Tag!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I can't believe Valentine's Day is around the corner, 2017 is going by fast! My project today features the wonderful Neat and Tangled My Favorite Nut stamp set and dies :)

I thought the size and dimensions of the acorn with the squirrels was perfect to make my husbands Valentine's Day gift tag! I am in love with this set and the tag dimension is perfect. I colored the images with my Copics and used more caramel colours for the bottom and traditional browns for the top. I decided on warm greys for the squirrels to make them stand out.  I then did some surgery for the sentiment because I felt the "you are my nut" represented the recipient well! Lol! I embossed the sentiment in white. I then felt the tag needed some hearts, so I used a mix of Lawn Fawn heart dies to finish off the tag!

I used my We R Memory Keepers hole punch and then made the box out of Kraft card stock using my gift box punch board (also by We R Memory Keepers). Then attached the tag with Lawn Fawn Peppermint Twine and natural twine.

I think he will get a kick out of this! Have a great week!
Thanks for taking the time

Lawn Fawn Friendship Valentine

Had such fun with this card! I love Lawn Fawn birds!

I started by die-cutting a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper with a Fancy Scalloped Rectangle and used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Inks. I then spray the panel with my Distress Sprayer and dabbed off the water to get the splotchy effect. I then stamped all of my images using my Misti for the best impression by stamping multiple times.  I used my Copics to color in all of my images in reds, pinks and greys (to give a shading effect to my "white"). I then die cut my mailbox from Lawn Fawn Narwal paper and shaded the elements with the matching ink I also die cut the heart from the Tiny Tags with Guava paper and shaded it with Candied Apple Ink after white embossing my sentiment.

I then die cut another panel and used a Simple Stitched Hillside Border. I put me elements together and put the card together.  Then added Lawn Trimmings to secure my Heart Tag.

Thanks for taking the time!

Spring colours!

I needed spring flowers! February is my least favourite month, but at least it's the shortest month of the year!

I started with Strathmore Watercolour Paper and cut it to 5.5 x 8.5 scored it at 4.25. I then placed the entire card base on my Misti.  I used the Penny Black Fresh Slapstick Cling and started with my Distress Stains but found it was too difficult to spread on a flower stamp that had them so close together. I really wanted definition so I took my Distress Markers out and had a much easier time. I used Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick and Mowed Lawn. Once I stamped the outlines, I then used my matching Distress Ink pads and water coloured the flowers to add more definition.  I used Tumbled Glass for the added blue around the flowers. I then used Distress Paints to flick on some black and brass type "splotches".

I used a sentiment from Mama Elephant and added a variety of sequins!

Thanks for taking the time!
