Lawnscaping August Blog Hop - Yellow!

Good morning all  Kim from the Lawnscaping FIT team and welcome to the August Blog Hop Sponsored by The Ink Road you could win a $25.00 gift certificate to this store!  All you need to do is leave a comment with a trackable e-mail on each stop on this hop!

You will have arrived here from the talented Suzanne's blog! When I saw that the inspiration for August was yellow, the first thing I thought of was the fantastic Lawn Fawn birds! Love me some Lawn Fawn birds! I used one of my Lawn Fawn Let's Polka 4bar cards and I die cut one of the stitched circles for my background and a scallop circle (all Lawn Fawn) from vellum. I stamped some sun rays on the background piece then stamped a variety of Lawn Fawn birds and Copic coloured them, the balloon, branch and banner! Added the stitched clouds and some sequins! I also did some creative sentiment stamping using two different Lawn Fawn sentiments.

Your next stop on the blog is the talented Lexa! If you run into any broken links along the way simply go back to the Lawnscaping blog for the entire list!

Runway Inspired Challenge - #90

Last post today, I swear! I have been having fun getting back into my creative space. I was so inspired by the Runway Inspired Challenge Picture inspiration for this one. My starting point were those beautiful yellow cut-out flowers!

Mama Elephant sentiment stamps, Lawn Fawn Flower Stamps and Little B. flower die cuts.

Thanks for taking time!

AEIheartYou - Embossing #27

I had such fun with this one for the AEIheartYou challenge, the Avery Elle hippopatamus is one of my favourites and I thought he would be fun for this embossing challenge twinned with a Tim Holtz embossing folder making him look like he is popping out of a stage curtain call, lol.

I embossed the sentiment with white Zing embossing powder on red cardstock to match the band on his hat. I used Glossy Accents on the glasses and added a few PPP sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Mama Elephant Watercolour!

Happy Tuesday! Nice to be back to normal after an extended summer vacation! I not only took a solid break from work, I also took a blogging break so forgive me but this is the first of three posts for today! Feels nice to be creative again. I made this one for the current Mama Elephant Flickr Challenge using watercolours.

I used the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals with my Gansai Kuretake watercolour paints
Mama Elephant Thanks die with black cardstock and PPP sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Lawnscaping Challenge #112 - Embossing!

Embossing is one of my favourite techniques! The Lawnscaping challenge this week is right up my alley! When it comes to Lawn Fawn products I rarely go "CAS" but I was so inspired by the Lawn Fawn "Love" die. In my opinion it should stand out!

So here is my "CAS" project:

The "love" die is Lawn Fawn as are the heart dies that I Copic coloured, the dots in the background are from We r Memory Keepers. I Embossed the Love die with Zing turquoise embossing powder three times and I added glossy accents to the hearts.

LAWN FAWN is the wonderful Sponsor for this Challenge, Woot! You could win Lawn Fawn stamp set of your choice!

Head on over the Facebook Inspiration page for more project inspiration!

Thanks for taking the time!

Back to School 2015!

Hi all! Kim here with you today and I am sharing a cute back to school milk container gift box.  In the spirit of the current challenge, and as I know many of you are sending your children back to school this week I figured a cute treat bag for that tough 1st day of school (well, way back in my day the first day was a toughie!)

I started with the Lawn Fawn milk carton die and some Let's Polka 6 x 6 paper I then used the Science of Love stamp set for the cute bird, book and sentiment (all copic coloured). I die cut a white circle with the Stitched Circle Dies and the Lawn Fawn sun die. I also used the Puffy Cloud border dies for the bottom and the regular cloud dies to add to the box! I used the crop-a-dile to pierce holes in the top of the box and added a red ribbon. Fun little trinket box for someone going back to school who may need a pick-me-up!  You still have time to enter the current Lawnscaping Back to School Challenge. The lucky winner will receive a $25.00 gift card to Ellen Hutson!

Happy back to school everyone!

Lawnscaping Challenge - Back to School!

Happy Monday Kim Here from the Lawnscaping FIT team! Welcome to another Lawnscaping Challenge! This week the challenge is all about Back to School, which is strange for me as a Canadian - our back to school is the last week of August and I am only mid-way through my Summer vacation! Luckily I had the Lawn Fawn Color my World stamp set to inspire me, lol! I am so NOT ready for back to school - too early and the sun is still too bright! Enough of my mid-Summer contemplation and on to the challenge!

On to my project:

I used the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag die with black cardstock I also used Memories Unicorn white pigment ink to give a blackboard effect (didn't catch it well on my picture). I used the Lawn Fawn stiched circle dies to cut one side of the bag and put heat resistant acetate on the back. I white embossed the Good Luck sentiment. I then used primary Copic colours for my four crayons and white embossed the smiley faces. I filled the bag with Smarties (my husband later inherited of them lol). Added a few Lawn Fawn die cut hearts and some Lawn Trimmings red twine.

The lucky winner of this challenge will receive a $25.00 gift card from the fabulous Ellen Hutson on-line store!
